Managing Your Account

You can manage your personal information, including your email address, password, billing information or email preferences at any time. To access your account, click on "Your Account" at the top of any page on our site. From here, you can select an area you wish to update. You will then be asked to sign in with your email address and password and will be taken to the page where you can view or edit your information. As an added security feature, you will be automatically logged out after 30 minutes of inactivity on our website. If this occurs, simply re-enter your email address and password to access your information.

Please note:   For your security, if you change your password or email address, we will delete your saved credit card information.

Why am I being asked to update my password?

Providing our customers with a safe and secure shopping experience is very important to us. We know that many customers re-use their passwords across multiple websites, and if any of those sites are compromised, it can put your online security at risk. That’s why it’s a good idea to select strong, unique passwords and change them regularly.

How can I reset my password?

Here’s how to change your password:

  • Log into your online account at gap.eu or bananarepublic.eu.
  • You will be prompted to create a new password by clicking on the “Update Password” button.
  • Once complete, you will receive an email letting you know that your password has been changed.
  • Additionally, you can always change your password by going to “Your Account” and clicking on “Account Settings.”

If you forgot your password, you can follow these steps:

  • Go to the account login page at gap.eu or bananarepublic.eu.
  • Input your valid email address and select ‘I forgot my password.’
  • Select ‘email password.’ An email will be sent to your inbox with a temporary password and instructions on how to reset your password. For security reasons, this temporary password will be valid for 24 hours.
  • Once complete, you will receive an email letting you know that your password has been changed.

How can I keep my account secure?

As a company, we take our obligation to protect our customers’ information very seriously and have safeguards in place to detect potential threats to our online shopping environment. As a customer, there are some best practices you can employ to help keep your account safe:

  • Avoid using the same password on multiple websites and do not repeat a past Gap Inc. password.
  • Create strong and unique passwords that are difficult to guess and be sure to change them regularly. Also, be sure your passwords are a minimum of 8 characters long and include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.
  • Review your account information regularly and report any suspicious activity immediately.

Your account (or user) name is your e-mail address.

Please note:   For your security, we will delete your saved credit card information when we email your password.
